Oohhh... This one will stump ya!

oops i meant i think it is either a modified pea or buttercup not rosecomb.

sorry!

I would say Hamburg, or hamburg mix. He has white earlobes, and so that would fit as well. Guessing he isn't very old? Handsome boy though!

No he is actually 2-3 years old

i dont think i have ever seen a hamburg white.. but then again im not an expert on hamburgs

thanks!

He could also very well be a Wyandotte. Those would be my two guesses. He seems to resemble the white wyandotte roo on feathersite: http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Wyand/BRKWyand.html

At
least in body style. Seems there can be variation in combs and how they grow, so could be either or.

Congrats on your new boy, when does he get to come home?

Hes not a Rhode Island White (they have Yellow legs)
I would say a White Orpington/Wyandotte cross

Chris

Hmm.. maybe orpington/wyandott or maybe wyandott/hamburg?
Is he a good looking bird though? In my county fair they actually have an opening for mutts to be judged. do you think he would do good in a show?
Thanks!
(He is coming home tomorow hopefully)

Here a pic of my white orp. (Not the best its been dark and rainy here) Don't know if you can compare them or not. He won't stay still

He really does resemble that wyandott on feathersite! I agree, wyandott cross... Have fun with him!... Oh yeah, his comb looks like coral to me

I know thats not a real type of comb though...

So i wonder what happened with his comb...? i know he is pure orpington but i am thinking what you guys are thinking now.. white orp/wyandott roo
But because of him being a mix of single comb and rose comb makes that type of.. coral looking comb?
interesting.. maybe i could start a new breed/comb feature! lol.. well that might take a lot of work.. we will see if the coral type of comb is dominant or resesive..?
Thanks!
