Ooomff, I was really naughty last night

Sparkles... I had a scrambled egg with a string cheese for breakfast, then 1/2 tuna sandwich on rye for lunch. So far, so good! It's later on at night that I get the munchies. I think the moon is waxing isn't it? That's right - I'll blame it on the moon!

When DH looks at my chocolate bar and opens his mouth to comment I just remind him what time of month it is and how comfy the couch could become and he leaves me alone. I too crave at night, but noticed that if I eat chocolate during the day I dont crave so bad at night....

Well, I had 1/8th of a chocolate bar that my husband gave me for our 17th anniversary. Can't say it was worth it.

Last night I had three slices of pound cake, 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, some chocolate syrup, and peanut butter all in one bowl.... Soooooo delicious and it didn't feel all that filling...

I noticed that I do not eat much junk food anymore, except sometimes around....... . . . . . ., mostly chocolate,
and yesterday, my son and I were both at work - while he was on his break, he asked me if I liked his "creation"= ice cream and iced coffee mixed together........ hahaha, I had to let him know he's eating coffee ice cream and it's already been created........oh, but his was gooood!

That's easy...just have a heart attack like me. That'll settle ya down.

But I don't feel like I'm starving or missing out. I eat a biiiig portion of veggies or big salad before a meal...I eat less. I still allow myself 1 soda a day...starting to taste a little or a LOT sugary and not really craving it like I once was. I eat jello or sherbert, like they gave me in the hospital for an after dinner snack. I don't eat after 7pm...and if I get hungry after that...I go to bed...and it's gone.

I eat fruit instead of a sugary snack in the day...grapes, strawberry, cantaloup, bannana...what ever.

I go to cardiac rehab 3x a week and exercise for a little more than an hour...walk for 30 and ride the bike for 30, maybe a little bit of weights and then stretch.

I'm loosing weight and it feels good. That in itself is a nice reward.

But the biggest reward is strengthening my heart so I can be here for my 2 little girls.

We can be strong and resist. When you choose the healthy things and you're body starts to show it... it will get easier.

I still have my downfalls believe me...I had a couple of potato chips but I just took a handful and was done with it. The bag says 18 chips... I probably had 8 and I was good. Because the heart attack was not fun and I'd rather not have another.

hugs,
g
