Oooo sofa dumpers!!!!!

Oh for the love of Mike, I found this morning taking my daughter to school, pulled out from my driveway, there was a tossed old sofa on the shoulder of MY yard! Oh that ticks me!!!! What are we, a dumping ground???!!!!

In short of throwing the sofa out in the street, what should I do??? There were no tracks, no evidence, nada!!! I hate the thought of leaving it there because it is NOT our sofa and why in the heck we clean it up so they can do it again! I believe this is the second time someone dumped furniture on the side of the street on our side.

Why can't people take it to their curb and call the darn waste company!!!!!!!

Haven't they heard of Craigs list? Guess you have to square it up pretty like and post a free couch on my curb Craig's List posting. Or make firewood out of it. People have no pride, do they? A couch in your henhouse???

Not taking any chance bringing in that sofa..cockroaches and fleas are the big issue around here that I do NOT want in my house. And we live in a good neighborhood that people take pride in their neighborhood.

I hope that darn thing rots! And the city better NOT call me that the sofa needs to be picked up. Why should I pick up someone else's trash? Paper, cans, bottles is not much but a sofa! Beside can not CraigLIst or Freecycle it because there are no cushions to it, got a big tear on the side of it, missing foots and it is one of those dirty old gold sofas. If it was a leather sofa, I might look into that LOL!

Would it do any good to call the police and report it as vandalism? Maybe they can get the city to pick it up or tell them to take it in as evidence LOL

reminds me years back some friends of friends found an old dirty couch and put it on my friends porch to be funny.

i stopped by and was APPALLED! for I knew it had come up the road from my neighbor who had died on the couch and wasn't found for 3 days in the heat of summer. It smelled REALLY REALLY bad. The family had it out and were waiting for the waste co. to come get it but those geeks found it first and thought it would be a funny prank.

Once I told them WHY it smelled so bad they were sooooo disgusted.

Well, we do have cops driving around often but none of them ever did anything to it. Still sitting there and getting wet LOL!

We used to do something called questing when we were kids, and it involved setting up a few living room scenes on the front yards of some homes, even a hair salon once, But they were all the homes of our friends (whom ever did not make it out that night usually got the prank pulled on them) so we all knew who we were doing it to and it was always us cleaning it up afterwards. It was very funny and creative for being mischievous but what happened to the OP was just dumping and I see no humor in it. If it is happening a lot maybe you can borrow a camera and set it up to see who the folks are that are dumping

Have you tried checking the cushions? When people git rid of sofas they rarely check under the cushions, might get some info on the slick bugger's. Id report it to the authority's or sigh when this happened to us we wound up having to PAY to take it to the dump... needless to say I was ticked!
