Oops... erred on head count

I'm going to have to go back to the touch method when head counting. I found a hen waiting for me outside the coop this morning. When it gets cold they all pile on top of each other, so it's hard sometimes to get a visual count right. Thank God not every mistake results in something bad.

ME TOO! One month after I got my flock I forgot to close their coop window one night (which is only covered by chicken wire on the inside). When I rounded the corner and saw that window open my heart dropped and I was a mess all day. Everyone was ok, thank god, and needless to say it NEVER happened again! Glad she was ok, @HenOnAJuneBug!
