Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

Started snowing yesterday about 2pm and snowed until midnight. Wound up with 10 inches on the flat and drifts to 18". Anyone want it? Took 3 hours to dig out. Spring is a month away and it can't get here fast enough to suit me.

One thing that I tried to impress upon my sons that the two most important things they needed was the ability to read and the willingness to try what they had learned. Joe, my oldest, has found that this has served him well in life and passed it on to my granddaughter Morgan. She wanted to bake a cake from scratch, looked up a recipe, and this is her first ever cake. Pretty impressive for 12 years old. With baking skills like this, I sure wish she lived much closer.

Good evening everyone!! PK hope that you had a better day today!! Don't give up on your parents, we (parents) aren't perfect either and make lots of mistakes; and I'm sure they love and care about you!! When I finish the wall hanging I will post a photo, going to work on it again tonight when I get off of here!!

Opa, so sorry about the snow! Wow! Glad all we are having is rain for a few days. I live closer to Morgan than you do

She did a wonderful job!
NAF we have tons of mud here too!!! Hopefully the permafrost will finish melting and it will sink some and dry out!!
Oh, and Opa...I have no real idea why we are electrifying the top....hubby just said that we were!! I'm thinking for crawl overs or so it won't be used by hawks and eagles for a landing place...its almost an acre that we are doing and backs to the woods on 2 sides; don't know if that would make a difference or not. I think we have settled on welded wire about 2" x 4".

Have a wonderful evening, Blessings.....CCMH

Hello CCMH! Yes, I had a better day today, although the giant biology paper I'm writing is rather taxing on one's mind...
I'm definitely not giving up on them!

Yay, I can't wait to see it!

That sounds like a good fence.

Sorry to hear that Opa. Here in southern New Mexico, we have sunshine and warmer weather. I have even started to planting my garden. Our only real problem is the blowing wind, but that is to be expected, I guess. After all, thats what El Paso means (the Pass) between the Rockies and the Sierra Madres. Here's wishing all of you a warm and early spring...

Sure is a bright and beautiful day here although it started out rather cold, -4. Now it has sailed all the way up to a tropical 27.

Took Granny to get her hair done this morning and this afternoon I tried to get Hope's stepfather's social security issues resolved. He had gotten a letter that stated his benifits would be deposited in the bank he had selected and he didn't understand what the letter meant since his benefits always came to his house. I spent over an hour dealing with the various phone prompts and hold times only to discover I need his mothers maiden name. Next day tons of phone prompts and waiting I get through but since I don't know his mothers first name I'm dead in the water again. Today I get him here at the house so that he can help with it. I had asked him repeatedly if he had changed the status of his benefits, where there came, were they supposed to go to a bank etc; and always the answer was they are supposed to come to the house. This time I go through all the prompts, get placed on hold, and as I'm waiting he asks me "why is it taking you so long? The girl at the bank got through in less than ten minutes". What? Seems that last month when he complained about driving in the snow to deposit his check the teller suggested direct deposit and he had her make the changes.
