Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

I've already sent a PM. Hopefully, she is still with us! If not, I hope her sons will find a way to let us know.

Don't feel chagrined, Opa, I don't usually follow the AZ thread either.

The more video coming from Japan that I see, the more amazed I am my the power of nature. Just saw a big house being washed out to sea among a bunch of boats, and then a big boat being washed ashore right passed a bunch of houses. I hard to fathom that kind of force and destruction.

Amazing how much nicer snow covered ground looks when you know it probably won't be jumping up and down or covered with water.

Today is certainly not the day to complain about anything if you are safe, warm, dry and not hungry....thoughts and prayers with all those who are hurting!

Sunshine here today and 60 degrees. Cleaned up tomato cages and stakes from the garden to get ready to plow when its dry enough. The 2 crazy old people who live here bought 100 lbs. of seed potatoes...so much for scaling back the garden I guess!! But we are potato heads

Hope all is well with everyone else! CCMH

My oldest son, who travels constantly for work, recently got an airline voucher for giving up his seat for a later flight. He could fly later and still make his appointment on time so he thought to himself, "why not? I know just what I will do with a free ticket". Yesterday he called Granny and asked when would she like to come to Missouri. Sure made the old girl's day. Monday he is going to call the airlines and schedule her flight. It will be a nice break for her to go somewhere that spring as started. Ours is still a long way off and the chance that we could have more snow remains quite high. She has an appointment with her eye doctor next Friday so Joe was going to see what is the next available date after that.

Today is starting out reasonably well. Forty degrees and partly cloudy. Not great but not snow either so I will take it. I should try and work in the shop for a while today. At least until time to meet with a customer later this afternoon. Trying to keep the shop clean and orderly sure can be daunting at times. One thing not put back immediately after use seems to attract six or eight other things and the first thing you know the work benches have disappeared.

Hundreds dead. Thousands missing. Seems that every report coming out of Japan is worse than the previous one. Once again we are reminded that no matter how high and mighty we think we are, we can be brought low in a instant. My heart goes out to all those who must face such a calamity. When you see the power of nature it almost boggles the mind.

This morning I'm sitting here waiting on the sun thinking that it's probably going to be a gloomy day, then I remembered it's the first day of DST. I was getting used to see the sun shortly after waking and now I'm back to waiting for the sun to come up and I hate it. I know what the Thistle would suggest........don't get up so early.

I was thinking that as I read!!

It's "suppose to get" up to 40 F today, "partly cloudy"............ the nuclear reactor 40 miles north of me isn't having any problems, so I'm counting my blessing now and will again shortly at church. Prayers will be said for everyone experiencing hardship due the quakes and tsunami. We are blessed, have a wonderful day everyone!
