Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

On the PBS station tonight they reran a show called "Rock, Pop & DoWop". Since nothing else on was of much interest, and I only wanted something playing in the background while I read, I watched and listened to it again. Watching it sure was enjoyable. As I watched the audience singing along in rapt enjoyment, I can't help but help but be drawn back to the days of my youth. hearing the songs sung by groups that were popular back when. Memories of sock hops and parties. Girls from the past and stolen kisses. Sweet memories. However, the memories are bitter sweet when I consider the audience. They were almost all "old" people. How did that happen and so quickly?

Speaking of old folks..... It's my Mum's birthday next week and my sister and I are planning a suprise party for her. If anyone here is thinking of throwing someone a surprise party let me give you some advice - DONT! I keep getting frantic phone calls from people (who thankfully are in on it) saying she is trying to make plans for the day of the party. I've had 3 calls over the weekend so far! I'm going to call her later today and tell her we are taking her out for lunch that day and hopefully that will put a stop to it. I'm doing all of the catering myself as my sister is working all week, plus we need to go to her house and do some cleaning as some of the guests are staying over as they are coming quite a distance. I'll need to cook them dinner too! Eek, going to be a busy week!

PK, It's good to be concerned, but be aware that the Japanese people are a very intelligent race, and they are the largest user of atomic energy in the world. They may have problems, but I'm confident they will work them out. We didn't do too good at Three Mile Island, but we did get it taken care of eventually. I feel they will also...

Hey... Watch it girl... Who you calling "old folk".?.. I prefer the term "long folk", because I've been here longer. You're only (OLD) if you want to be... lol

I'm all in favor of not using the word old and maybe could substitute the word long, but some how "Largo Loco" doesn't have quite the same ring.

Thistle, as you will find out in just a few more years, when you reach a certain age every birthday is a surprize.
