Evening folks! Seems snow would be welcome here tonight; the world around us seems to be on fire everywhere!! Have heard that 3000 acres of land are burning about 20 miles from here along with numerous smaller fires around us, highways have been closed, numerous fire departments called out! Opa you would know Piedmont, biggest fire is close to there; Hwy. 21 was closed between us and Hwy. 60; fires in Garwood, Doniphan, homes burned in Piedmont and another larger one up around Black, MO. Almost like someone is setting them, just plain scary to live here tonight, we can see smoke everywhere. Checked in with the kids that live around here and 2 are ok, the third had ashes falling on his place earlier and now we cannot reach him, one of the fires was close enough for concern to his home. Appreciate any thoughts and prayers this evening for all the folks this is affecting and all those that are fighting the fires. We have had extremely windy 40-50 mph winds all afternoon which isn't helping anything. Looking at a long sleepless night!

I am very familiar with that area of Missouri. I just watched a news report from there but it was from yesterday. Hopefully today bodes much better for everyone.
