Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

Good morning all! Hope everyone is doing well. We are still snowless here in Central MA. We have had a couple of snows, but then it warms up an melts. I told hubby that I am getting spoiled, until yesterday when it went down to 15degrees faranheit. Still it is a lot milder than it ususally is. If we have a tough winter next year, it will be hard now that we are used to minimum snow and mild temps. The kids are hating it of course. They want snow! I myself love these southern style winters!

It got down to 8 degrees here yesterday and I thought I was frozen solid by the time I was done with tending to the birds. This mild winter has gotten me spoiled.

I think license to cull is a great idea. If fact license or not I think I'm going to cull a rooster today.

It's cold here, too, and I hate it. I was enjoying the mild winter. sigh...

I like 007 License to cull! I'll still probably call you Chic though!
I culled 2 extra roosters yesterday, I made a total hash of the processing part though, I definitely put the butcher into butchering!

At the risk of jinxing myself, it's still nice and mild here. The days are getting noticeably longer too which is great. The daffs are peeking out now too, I'm ready for spring!

This was posted on the Michigan thread and I thought I'd share it.

Several days ago as I left a meeting at our church, I desperately gave myself a personal TSA pat down. I was looking for my keys. They were not in my pockets or purse. A quick search in the meeting room revealed nothing.

Suddenly I realized, I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My husband, David, has scolded me many times for leaving the keys in the ignition. My theory is the ignition is the best place not to lose them.

His theory is that the car will be stolen. As I burst through the doors of the church, I came to a terrifying conclusion. His theory was right. The parking lot was empty.

I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen. Then I made the most difficult call of all. "Honey," I stammered. I always call him honey in times like these. "I left my keys in the car, and it has been stolen. There was a period of silence. I thought the call had been dropped, but then I heard David's voice. "Betty," he barked, "I dropped you off!" Now it was my time to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well, could you come and get me?"

David retorted, "I will, as soon as I convince this policeman I have not stolen your car!"
