Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

The coffee is on and if you'd like to have a cup come on in.

I've got to go meet with a customer to discuss the project he wants us to do on his house and then when I'm finished I need to work on figuring out why the heating coils from a couple of old incubators aren't producing the kind heat that I need for a two section brooder with individual thermostats. I'd better get it figured out soon since I have 85 chicks showing up on the 30th. If I don't get if figured out I'll be back to the hanging heat lamp.

85 now? Every time you mention it, the number goes up and up! Are you still maintaining that you are only going to keep 6?

I may not even keep 6. I'm ordering for others and on April 1st I will be meeting up with several other BYC members to give them their birds. Several folks I only know through their posts and it will be nice to finally put faces to the names I have come to know.

Thistle I was looking at your signature line and realized that feller Anon wure was a prolific writer. I've seen his work just about everywhere.

It occurred to me as well when I realized what the date would be. It sure would be a mess of birds to get stuck with. When I think back to my original plan of having 3 or 4 hens it also seems like a appropriate date. I hope to construct an ark style coop later this week solely for a trio of bantams. If I'm happy with the result I will probably build at least two more.

It is 48F here today, that's like mid summer to me! So I am going to make the most of it and get busy outside. Have a good day!

Good morning Opa, coffee sounds really nice about now. Trying to get children up and ready for school the week after the changing of the clocks is just awful. It doesn't help that it is pitch black when you tell them it is time to get up, and it feels like the middle of the night. Oh well, only a few more months and then it is summer vacation!

GM everyone. There may be a chance we might have an early spring here in the great state of Minn.

I did a lot of raking yesterday. Hopefully this mud dries up soon. The temps have been pretty good here for a change and i may move my house chickens outside in the very near future.

Might have a broody!!!!!!!!!!
