Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

Send mum my regards and enjoy your day. I think since I'm awake I'll go to the website that has some episodes of the Highlander tv series and watch one of those.

I just got off the phone with my youngest and their weather pretty much sucks. He was telling me that they had 71 degrees on the last day of winter and 8 inches of snow on the first day of spring. While our temperture is hovering at 32 degreees, at least the snow has avoided us.......So far!

Morning all-not sure what the weather is going to do today-hoping for some sun.
Woody-[/b]I'm not sure where Round Top is-The closest I've been to that area is Hillister. Were you timbering pine?
Highlander-Hope your mom has a happy birthday and enjoy the day with her.
Opa-Here's hoping ya'll avoid the snow.

Just a heads up... There are a bunch of pics on this post.

Opa: Love your idea for a help wanted ad.

Do you think that would go over ok, or would people accuse me of being politically incorrect? I went out yesterday and took some pictures of the critters. Minnie, the one you like, is one of the most adventurous of all the chickens, and doesn't seem to appreciate my presence at all. Even so, I managed to get a few good pictures. Here's Minnie:

Here's Diva, the one that Granny liked: Oh, one of these pictures is the cutest poofy butt shot!

This is Pepper...what is she? An EE?

This is Currie (should have named her Broody. She can't be bothered to lay eggs, because she's too busy trying to hatch out everyone else's.)

Beauthful pics Cayce! I'd love to have a creek or pond here! And Diva! What a fluffy butt she is!

I have a doily from Granny too, and I am so excited! Every day I say today's the day I'm going to block and starch it- and every day something comes up.

Hi Sheila, we're actually in very similar climates, and your weather usually gets to me in 2 days. When I was in Austin I would call mom in SC and give her the forecast for her in 2 days. Almost always right!

Sam, thanks for the help last night. I was at ER until 2:30 a.m. and when they decided to keep DH I came home. They are doing more tests today, poor guy looks like he fought a porcupine and lost! Tentative diagnosis is gall bladder.
But if these late night visits from EMS continue I really MUST vacuum the floors! All those bright lights really highlight the dog hair and dust rhinos!

Today is going to be interesting and boring at the same time. So many ordinary chores to do and then go hang out in a hospital.
I don't normally post much about such things and I won't be putting any details up, but since many of you know the situation I figured I'd get everyone on the same page!

Highlander, Please tell Mum Happy Birthday tomorrow. Another Aries, eh? No wonder we had such a nice chat on the phone!

Woody, if I recall, Round Top is where they have the traditional Eeyore's Birthday every year. There was a spinoff one in Austin, I was a volunteer for 21 years. Started out selling T-shirts, ended up on the B. of D. and Security. Security was a bunch of bikers, I sure like them better!

We raised a lot of money for many charities over the years.

Thanks for the compliments, Ranchie.

I sure do hope your DH gets well soon. I know that must be terribly stressful for you both.

Gotta love that biker security! Many of our friends are 'big, tough' biker dudes who we enjoy going out riding with. They're all a bunch of teddy bears with hearts of gold. They would do anything for anyone. We've worked on various charities, too. For those of you who raise money for charities, seriously consider recruiting some biker dudes (and babes).

Thanks Cayce, he's called 3 times this morning already! LOL, he's still wondering why I wasn't bright and chirpy when he called at 8 a.m. to tell me what his breakfast was. Maybe because I didn't get to bed until 3 a.m.???? Actually we're pretty settled down now that he's getting the treatment he needs.

Some of my dearest friends are bikers to this day, I miss those guys a lot. We used to all take day long road trips just to sample different BBQ joints. My BF at the time was kind of the leader, but we always had to trail because his bike had a habit of blowing a little oil on restarts!

Caycee, I'm glad you posted pictures of that bird. That way folks can see that she is a pretty as I said she is. Granny was also very tickled to see the picture of your doily. She said that it appears that you like it.

Morning! We're having the party today. Here's hoping that the kids don't snoop around.
