Open air coop in California...

We're in Southern California with just a slightly milder climate. Our coop is very "open air" but with some shade and wind protection. I guess it technically has two sides but the roosts are up under the roof and more protected.

Free is good. We can get free barrels, so it was a barrel nest for us. Lovely orchard, by the way! Those are going to be some lucky, happy chickens!

That's adorable!! I love the colors!! We have our frame built. Kind of hilarious because my husband and I have no carpentry skills. We've spent a lot of time in Home Depot this week.

I'm with you on the carpentry skills. I discovered I'm good at coming up with ideas, stacking cinderblocks, and painting... that's about it. But hey, we'll get better with every project, right?
