Opened duck egg

My boyfriend opened a duck egg he thought was dead and it is still alive what can I do to save it?

You might be able to save it with it being this far along, but don't get your hopes up. You're going to want to patch the hole. Either cover it carefully with some saran wrap or find an egg of a similar size and take the top off to make a cap you can put over the open egg to cover the hole.
