Opening Incubator

I know, your never supposed to open the incubator during a hatch. My first chick hatched 3 days ago, 6 more hatched 2 days ago. 1 died during hatched yesterday and is starting to smell. I have 3 that are pipped. What would you do? Thinking of quickly opening to remove hatched chicks and dead chick next to a humidifier and pouring warm water in instantly to increase the humidity as soon as its closed. Feedback?

And if I do would it be better to open for 2 seconds and grab a chick, get humidity up again before doing it again or all at once?

Opening the incubator is fine so long as it's quick. No need to try and up the humidity in-between grabbing chicks since you're just going to release it again.

Thank you SilverBirds. Did it quick and the humidity instantly went back to 73 so I think I'm good.
