Opening nesting boxes.

Regarding roost, they fit for now, but they're not done growing... they're already looking a bit packed in the photo.

Regarding nests, some privacy, yes. Doesn't mean it needs to be very dark or closed off. I've even cut windows into a nest box before and the girls had no issue using it.
Mine the fronts are open, but I read where a lady made like a few strips of material coming down on each side like a curtain. I might just put a few strips of material on each side.

Curtains are cute, and some people have found that they've encouraged hens to use boxes they might not want to have used before, but they're definitely not "necessary" in many cases. But if you like the look, by all means. :)

So they fly up to their roost, I've not seen them fly up but I was concerned at first I didn't know if they could fly straight up. They figured it out so I guess its okay. They are 14 weeks old now so I'm getting excited about eggs.
