I am blessed that we have a shop full of wood working tools. I've never used a router, and find them to be a bit scary. My favorite tools are the chop saw, cordless drill, and chain saw. Also play with jig saw, recip saw, table saw, and skill saw. I find some of these tools to be intimidating, but... proceed with caution. Ratchet straps and clamps are some of my best friends when I'm tackling a project alone.
I've built: 2 tractors, a green house, a hoop coop with a loft. I love to do tile work, and have done 2 stove hearths, and 2 tile topped book cases/plant stands. I'd much rather be working on some project in the work shop, or in the yard than doing "home making" tasks. As I age, I find that my endurance and strength are limiting the amount of time I can work on any task at a time.
Young ladies: a word to the wise: Use your time wisely, and learn as many skills as you can while you are young and have the strength to put your skill to good use.
