Opinion please. I have RIR rooster,

Isn't there some white leghorns that are dominant white and won't produce sexlinks?

I think your right..
Or at least you wont be able to color sex them at hatch

With pure Barred Rock chicks both male and female have the headspot, although female spots tend to be smaller and more distinct than males.

In a RIR male over Barred Rock female mating, only the male chicks will have the headspot. The females will be solid black. This is what's sold as a Black sex link.

White Leghorn females mated to RIR males will not always make a Red Sex Link because they're not always the right kind of white.

I'd go with the RIR/BR cross.

With Leghorns crossed with a Rhode Island Red you can sex them by feather growth..
Leghorn are rapid feathering birds and RIR are late feathering birds.
If I remember right if you cross a Male Leghorn over a Female RIR the pullets will have the faster growing feathers like there father and the cockerels will have the slower growing feathers like there mother..

Krys if I'm not right please correct me...
