Opinions Needed: Lonely Female Goose

My girlfriend brought up the fact I probably wouldn't be able to find a gosling this time of year. Do you agree?

It's not high season for goslings, and you probably won't find one straight out of the egg.
But you might be lucky to find one some weeks old.

My goose laid it's last egg on June 19th.
Had it been fertile, it would've hatched around July 19th, and the gosling would now be 4-5 weeks old.

I raised an Embden Goose with three Buff/White Runners. The goose is a hen and the Runners are two drakes and a hen. The drakes mate with the Runner hen, they also "mate" (can't do anything really) with the goose. Everyone is very happy. The Runners, having grown up with a goose and learned goosey behaviors are too hard on other ducks to put them with them but my other geese have accepted them into their flock, wierd mating and all. I am conviced that geese are far more intelligent and enlightened than sweet little ducks LOL. Your goose may not even need another goose, though I'm sure she'd prefer one. Ganders are easy to find, people don't generally want many ganders and are happy to re-home them.

Have you looked on Craigs list? or something like that. Geese are suppose to be the smartest of the baryard fowl.

Geese are very smart and the smartest of all barnyard fowl but I don't think they're smart enough to post their own Craiglist ad.

I did contact her. She was very helpful but I don't think her ganders are imprinted as much as he like. It's still an option though.

Sometimes ganders that are less imprinted - work out to be better pets. I'd consider her offer. The less imprinted ganders aren't as quick to challenge you as their leader. Just a thought...
