one more response on the chicken wire on the floor: I would get rid of it completely or at least cover it completely with something other than bedding material even hay (like a piece of linoleum or plywood) as that wire is super thin and corrodes very easily with the high nitrogen chicken poop. I'd hate for it to corrode and one of your chickens step on and break it and it's leg fall through the wire and cut its leg or more trying to get free
