This thread will be helpful to me in a few weeks with my dark Brahma! Yay. How old are your chicks in these photos?

I got these around the 20th of April and they were probably just a few days old so I think they are a little over 4 weeks here. Do you have dark brahmas?

It's supposed to be a "her", I pray it is! I love her, she's such a calm, quiet chick. Totally unlike my Marans, who are running screamers!

I wanted to get some more opinions on one of the dark brahmas that I have. It is about 6 weeks old and was one that was said to be a girl. Her pencilling is looking more broken up now though and it looks like she is getting some pink in her comb and tiny wattles are growing in pink.

Hmm, that's starting to look pretty boyish for sure. Is the chest solid black or pencilled?

Ack! The chest is splotchy...with dark feathers and white feathers.
