Opinions on rooster agression?

I'm confused too. In your OP it sounds like this is a seriously aggressive bird that flails or flogs people who turn their back to him, and he has drawn blood. Victims of his aggression include you, your mother and grandmother as well as the dog. You want help dealing with it. And then in a later post you say it's not a problem any more. Why not? Do you keep him locked up so he can't get close to people any more? What's changed?

that was when I first got him,he does not do anything now,and he is not free ranged and he is like 2 years old I think.
I'm kind of confused. He does not attack anyone anymore? When was the last time he attacked anyone?

A rooster hurt me pretty badly recently. If he'd hurt my kid like that, I may have been in legal trouble for child neglect and endangerment. This rooster had been getting more aggressive toward my kid, so I'd taken over the chicken chores and I'm glad I did. I thought I could settle him down. I failed. He could have seriously harmed my kid. I took care of the situation that day, as soon as I could walk out there with my hatchet. I will never again have an aggressive rooster. Better to have no roo than a mean one. I will chop a mean rooster now as soon as look at him.

It's rather doubtful you'd be in legal trouble because your rooster hurt your kid. It's not child endangerment or neglect. Stuff happens.

But if my rooster hurt my neighbor’s kid, that could be a whole different ballgame.

If the kid can get into your yard and you haven't taken precautions to prevent that yes that's true. If someone goes in the yard and there's a locked gate and a fence, it's trespassing and I would press charges in that case.

In some states, if the chicken is part of a farm, then getting harmed on the farm by accident that can include being attacked by livestock may not be something you as a visitor you can sue over. I will look into is more closely in the coming days to make certain that is correct and what it takes to be classified as a farm.
