Oppossum attempted to upgrade from pest to predator

Quote:
An appropriately placed electric wire might repell them. We have good numbers of oppossums here as well, despite my killing a few. Problem I have is that a single anti-predator system like electric wire may not be affective against other predators, some of which (i.e. racoons) that can cause more damage per visit.

How many wires / strips and what will be their spacing in respect to each other and ground?

Opossums seem to travel in groups. If my dog brings one in, he'll find half a dozen the same week. When we find him with one, we lock him up and give the possum a chance to leave. Sometimes they're still alive and make off! It's easier than burying them in this rocky soil.

One day he had a possum in the front yard, very dead. I took it away from him, then went back inside. I had barely sat down again when he was growling under the window - he had another! He must have located a nest that week...

I live in a universe dominated by oppossums. Can you see one in first image? I look for orange eyes. All my other predators reflect green, blue or red.

Getting real close she took time to smell my shoe. She has made no effort to date to go after chickens so she was spared fate of her kin. She does work feeding stations which is part of the reason for her weight. She will likely be the mother of next years trouble makers.
