That goofball is out in the snow/slush/mud playing with something he caught in the moonlight now. I guess he's eating to get that gut of his. He certainly has no trouble catching a meal.
'Tis true. At least my deck is no longer a mouse playground. He brings them to the area between the corner deck post and the satellite dish to "play" them into submission, same area every time. Then, he goes into his heated condo to sleep it off. But, no matter what, he's ready for breakfast every morning.
Finn is a guard cat. Who knew? I have one hen who was injured and is having to be by herself until she heals a little. So while she free ranged, Finn followed her around and when she started digging in one spot, he'd lay down at a short distance to watch her. She seemed fine with him being around, too. So, in lieu of her rooster, Rachel had a guard cat today!
Can you spot Finn in the leaves? He sure does blend!
He was a good boy today, looking out for sweet Rachel. He's loving the warm day today. Tomorrow, we get another winter blast, but I heard spring peepers in the woods today! That is the first sound of spring that I always look forward to every year.
I think we're going to go straight into summer here. The past 2 days it's been reaching a high of about 80. Which sounds wonderful of course, but it's making me too hot trying to get the garden going (for me more than the plants, lol).
