Orange Tabby...He Stays and His Name is Finn (Update with Videos Dec 31)

Aha, caught in the act and documented on film! Has Finn caught her doing it yet?

Yes, he has, actually. He avoids her like the plague because she will attack him. She flares her hackles just like that dinosaur in Jurassic Park, suddenly and startlingly, and goes after him with both feet. She is the Terrorist, you know, not named that for nothing. She probably thinks its her food.

Too funny.

Another Finn story for you. Night before last, I was already in bed, DH on his computer with earphones on. I hear outside on the deck, "Thump..thumpthumpthump...thumpety-thump-thump........thump....". I go to DH and say, "I hope that's Finn thumping around on the deck outside the bedroom window" and I go back to bed.

DH gets up to check. More thumping. I hear, "What on earth have you got?? Cyn, come here". I go to the door and Finn is playing soccer with something that is trying to get away from him. He lets it go then goes to retrieve it before it gets too far. I can't focus my eyes well, pitch black outside, lights not great out there. Finally, DH says, "Oh, gosh, it's a baby rabbit again!". So, DH scoops up the poor baby who seems none the worse for wear, tells me to put Finn inside so he can't see where he takes the little bunny. I think it got away. I hope it did. Never saw it come back anyway. Geez.

Finn fans get an installment today. DH told me this story, didn't witness it for myself, though I now know I heard part of it while in bed. Finn did his usual morning in-and-out thing, but I heard him running the deck like a mini-elephant stampeding. At one point, DH said he thought he heard him at the door, opened it and Finn shot inside like something was hot on his tail. Then, DH realized he had just chased a mouse INSIDE. Uh-oh.

The mouse ran under my recliner and Finn was searching, searching, DH was searching, searching. He got a flashlight since it was still dark in the house. Searching, searching, thinking oh no, there's a mouse in the house, mouse poop, gross, searching, searching......

Finally, he located the mouse between a wall and a bookcase. He blocks off one exit, puts a jar in front of where it would have to come out, but it jumps over and he grabbed it with his gloved hand and tossed it off the deck toward the woods. Whew. I think Finn was unhappy that Dad took his toy but he'll get over it.

Wow, never a dull moment with Finn around! I'm so glad your DH caught it (even though Finn was disappointed...he'll get more OUTSIDE).

Tee hee speckledhen love it! I have experienced that “why did you take my toy look”. Maybe tell Finn what I tell my fur babies “I have told you before, no pets in the house!”

Chimee grossed us out the other night .. she was laying on top of the television cabinet watching us watch television when she lashed out and swatted a passing moth down to the carpet. She leapt down and proceeded to eat him .. mmmmm, moth! Eeeew

Anyone else’s cats do this …. My two will trap and eat something and then seem to forget 2 minutes later that they have eaten it and go looking for it in the spot they caught it.

Well, they are either looking for it or hoping that the particular spot has become an automatic dispenser of whatever it was they ate
