Orange Tabby...He Stays and His Name is Finn (Update with Videos Dec 31)

Oh my; how adorable is that?!

I would have rescued it also. Let’s hope that it remembers it’s encounter with the Mighty Finn and avoids future encounters.

Thankfully, it did not appear to be hurt and was actually calm being held. When DH put it down in an area where we've seen lots of rabbit dung, it scampered away. I hope Finn doesn't find it again. I know he kills rabbits and the babies are easier to catch, not predator savvy yet, but I couldn't let him keep that sweet thing.

Yep, I hear ya!

As you may remember, my cats are inside cats with an outdoor run so their range of victims is small.

We have a lot of geckos around and if they make it into the run or house they are fair game but I still try my hardest to catch and release before they are spotted by the cats!

I know that rabbits, mice, etc are pests and we have to tolerate cane toads as well .. I can’t kill them or watch them be killed. If the cats or chickens get something, so be it, but if I can rescue it, I will.

All the Doves around here are very annoying and I am constantly chasing them off, but I also do my upmost to save one that is in trouble; rescued one from a Crow that was trying to eat it alive; protected and sheltered a juvenile that fell out of the tree until it’s parents found it and coaxed it back up!

I know, it is crazy but I can’t bare to watch anything suffer even if it is vermin or a poisonous, non native, introduced species [cane toads].

@speckledhen I'm having Finn withdrawal here. How is the mighty guy?

He's being a royal PAIN! He wants in in the middle of the night. Then out, then in, then out, then in. Then he sleeps a good bit of the day with bleary eyed us walking around like zombies.

LOL, like the cartoon! But getting up over & over in the middle of the night wouldn't be great.

Reminds me of this old cartoon I have in a folder:

But oh so lovable

(At least, in the day...when he's asleep!)

He is a good cat (for a cat, LoL). He is trustworthy around most chicks, having experienced the wrath of the broody, though I wouldn't leave him around a newly hatched one. Now, I just need a chicken -friendly dog to show up since DH says no to another dog. Dont tell, shhhhh.

Ok, I won't tell. But if I see a likely one walking down the road, I'll send him your way!
