I agree on the greens helping with the rich color. Mine free range every morning and afternoon. Our grass is nice and lush because of all the rain we have gotten recently.

There is no "I" in Ameraucana
I agree greens.
If you are not able to let them free range and cannot get them fresh "greens", alfalfa hay will work nicely too.
