I didn't think the mailman would bring them to your house. Round here you have to go to the PO at 6 am to pick them up yourself.

I called and told them they could drop them off because I would be home.

There was no need on the box to say live chicks!
There are slits in the box, and the noise was unmistakable.

Well, where I come from you dont see chickens here anywhere! So I might be calling the post office in a little, but if you lived here you would never see a live chicken other then the already dead ones at the grocery store!. I am just afraid that the post office people will drop it like any other package, we ordered live eggs from Ebay the box said "LIVE HATCHING EGGS" On it the lady said she felt it move! and told my father to come out and get the box...so I dont know very much about the post office right now I think I would like to pick them up then being dropped off well, because its just the way I feel about our post office system and there employers I feel they will jiggle it to see if somethings in there or throw it or ....whatever other bad thing that they could do we had a post lady that would keep our mail cause she didnt like our dog she came in the our store one day instead of putting mail in the box and was afraid of the dog she she just kicked him when my dog just came to the door to greet her as he always does to any other person, mostly he just barks once gives you a lick on the hand and goes back to sleeping in the show room. But Immideatly after that one bark POW! she just kicked him, oh did my dad cuss her out! we love that dog hes been with us for 5 yrs hes part of the family N you dont mess with family as me N my dad say.


So I am coming to the conclusion as, I am picking up the chicks I have figured throught out my saying how bad my feelings our toward our postal service, I have never heard of people buying live chicks from here and I figure they have never delt with animals like that, and just figure they will do there 1st oops! with my chicks, and I really dont want that to happen.

Our post office guy is great, he called WAY early this morning to let us know the chicks were here - then when my husband was waiting for them to open, he told him he should have knocked - they would have opened up for him!

WOW, all this information to dissolve. I just ordered from MY PET Chicken, and I assume it will be awhile. I was wondering how the "deliveries" worked. I was also wondering how many pullets vrs cockreils they will send.I have them shipped to my work address, so I don't miss them. I am so excited. I just love baby chickens, they are so cute!!!! I also hope that I can get a few roos with mine, as all of my previous roos have been, well let's just say they are in chicken heaven.
