Order from Hoovers

I ordered a Wyandotte assortment from TSC online and it’s shipped through Hoovers. Best price I could find since it included free shipping as well. They’re not the most amazing quality birds, but get compliments here frequently. All are hearty birds with no issues and should hopefully start laying soon. One DOA, but it’s expected with shipping unfortunately.

I have read a lot of bad comments on here about Hoovers. However, I have used them and was very happy.

It seems to me from what I've read that the issues people have with Hoovers are that the birds are not good representatives of their breeds -- off-type, poorly/wrongly colored, wrong combs, etc.

These things have little or nothing to do with the birds' health and vigor or their egg-laying capability. :)

Could be. I am not an expert chicken person and I know there are a lot on here that could possibly fit closely to that title. Though, I have never believed in the label "expert" in anything. I have always felt there are too many aspects of most things that matter to know everything about something. I guess it just depends on what ones definition of expert is. And, either way, there are certainly very knowledgeable chicken people on here. And, now I am rambling and getting off topic. lol
Yes, I get it. I have only made one order from them. I ordered 20 pullets from Hoovers: 10 Easter Eggers, 5 PBRs, and 5 RRs. They did all turn out to be pullets, I lost none on shipping, and they are all healthy after about a 1.5 years as well as being laying machines. I think they look like the breed is supposed to. I mean as far as I know they do with my limited knowledge. And, of course, Easter Eggers are not a breed. I am happy with them. I could order from them again and get a totally different experience. I guess that could be true from any place you ordered from.
