The first round of chicks are now 8 weeks old and the second round chick and his 3 friends I bought are now 4 weeks old. Everybody is doing well. I believe I ended up with 3 pullets and 7 cockerels.

I hear ya there, I was playing bud.
I'm swamped also and then throw 2 unexpected broodys into the mix. Love fishing but haven't had time for that or hunting in years. Hope you can get out there, tho and catch a few. Post pics when you can.
My dad was a big fisherman, so I grew up fishing for Perch, Walleye and then down rigging/tight lining and snagging Salmon and Lake Trout.
Closest I get now is Allucaneat on Fridays....![]()
That's awesome.... Glad you had a good dayI found some time today to get on the river. The fishing was great but the catching was just fair. I cleaned one sturgeon and one silver carp that jumped right in the boat.

My 2 little boys started a couple days also...The chicks are starting a band. I saw 3 unnamed cockerels from Gena’s hatch worming up their singing voices this morning. I managed to get one on video.
The pullet named chicken and noodles is learning to play the xylophone
I was surprised to see them crowing this soon. I was fairly sure they were cockerels a couple weeks ago based on comb development. Then about a week ago I noticed the saddles and shoulder patches growing in so I knew the crowing was coming. I just don’t remember my other boys crowing until they were closer to 12 weeks old. So far everyone is getting along well enough. Lots of raised heckles and posturing but nobody is getting hurt.My 2 little boys started a couple days also...![]()
Mine both laid after weening last time. Momma weens early and Joannie weens late, so we'll see if it copies again.Lacy is still taking care of her chicks but yesterday she did lay an egg so I expect she will ween them fairly soon. I don’t really know exactly how that works but I know Gena weened hers before she started laying again.
