I ordered 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Barred Rocks..
Those are nice breeds, you'll get a lot of eggs from those 4. We have both breeds in our mixed flock and have been very satisfied with them, both for their eggs and for their personalities.
I hope you'll share a picture of them when they arrive!
Oh, the agonizing wait!!
It really is terrible, MonicainAZ, I just don't know what to do with myself until then!! Lol!!
And NorthFLChick, I most definitely will!!
I don't have either breed "yet".....looking forward to following them! Oh the waiting! Stay on BYC! We'll talk ya through it!
Thanks mutt farm!! BYC really is what's giving me my chicken fix until my babies come..
I can provide you with a little more chick fodder. If you have the time, check out the adventures of Scout. The link is in my signature below. That was one special little chick with a worldwide fan club!
Oh. My. Goodness.
Blooie!!! How could you do that to me?!?!
You cant help but fall in love with little Scout and his love for adventure..
But then you ended with an 'RIP Scout'... ... ...
Scout was a very beautiful bird and you are one heck of a chicken mama!!
Thanks. He was easy to love, and he has a fan club all over the world.
Ladies, I am 2, maybe 3 (depending on the US Postal Service) days away from receiving my chicks. I can barely stand it. I'm so excited! I spent the day yesterday building my chick cave for mama heating pad and modifying my brooder. I'm in the process of building a new brooder, what I call my pretty brooder, but it won't be ready for a week or so. Anyway, I'm so excited! And I wanted to share my excitement with people who understand it!
