Ordered my 2022 flock

I just placed my chick order for early May! I ordered from McMurray and I'm so excited! I ordered all females:
4 Sicilian Buttercups
3 Delawares
3 Welsummers
5 Americanas (EEs)
Plus a surprise chick

Has anyone else ordered their chicks yet? What did you order?

Congratulations! I haven't ordered any chicks this year, and wont order any, but I wanted to comment on your breed choices. Your going to have such a beautiful flock!
Just know that theres a very good chance your mystery chick will be a rooster. They usually throw those in to help get rid of male chicks.

2 Black Copper Marans Pullets

1 Salmon Faverolles pullet

1 Dark Brahma pullet

1 Light Brahma Pullet

1 Buff Brahma pullet

2 Light Brown Leghorns, a cockerel, & one pullet.

1 Easter Egger

Thank you! Yes, I'm assuming the mystery chick will be a roo. I don't have any restrictions here, but out of respect for my close neighbors, I will probably re-home him.. unless he happens to be a particularly quiet roo

Thats going to be a pretty flock! I was debating adding Sumatras, but McMurray customer reviews for them were not particularly positive, so I chickened out Please post pictures when they arrive!

Sumatras can be hit, & miss when it comes to roosters. First one was friendly, the one I have now is a total butt head.

I will post pictures. I order them in the spring.

I don't order mine anymore, so I'll get whatever there is at tsc. I'm only going to add 2 or 3 next year, so I have no idea what I'll end up with! But as much as I spend at tsc, the gal who orders them (from Hoover's) is willing to honor my requests. I'm asking for EEs, I think. I don't have any presently.

Buttercups are on my "wish list!" You're going to have some serious yard candy next year! I have a Welsummer, and she's gorgeous!

Nice choices! Have you had California whites before? What are they like?

How exciting! We haven’t ordered yet, but here’s the plan (for now…I change something about once a week!)

For the backyard:
Lavender Orpington
Welsummer
Olive Egger
Golden Cuckoo Marans
Wheaton Ameraucana (hatching eggs so I’ll keep 1 pullet here)

For the family farm:
Speckled Sussex
Bielefelder
Cream Legbar
Olive Egger
Splash Laced Red Wyandotte
Buff Orpington
Brown Leghorn
My aunt is picking the other few and will probably choose some hybrids for guaranteed egg production (we sell the eggs there)
The farm will also home the rest of the Ameraucanas that we hatch and don’t sell at the farm…we are probably keeping at least one roo so we can offer Easter Egger hatching eggs on request since he will carry 2 blue egg genes!

In 2023 I’ll add 2 more to the backyard and probably 10-15 more to the farm…after that we will be at about 50 bird capacity and only add birds to replace any who pass on…
