Ordered my Whizbang parts

We ordered Whiz Bang parts last year, and DH built the thing. It is absolutely everything you might wish! When you read the instructions, go to the very end before you start cutting up a barrel. We went with the original instructions, which said cut the end off the barrel, and too late found the addendum that said that leaving the barrel in one piece, with a chute off one side, could be better.

We processed 98 birds this year, and someday we might get good at it

. Meantime, any time I can spend improving my gutting skills, and not having to pluck - win!

Next year: chicks in July, process in September/October. I don't know why I didn't figure this out earlier.

Now if pigs and beef cows and lambs weren't so darn personable ... . It's one thing to dump feed down for a bunch of voracious chicks, and another thing entirely to bottle feed a calf or lamb or goat.
