Do they need the heat lamp treatment indoors until the feathers start to grow or, since it will be July, can the they be locked up in the coop outside?

After the first week, decrease the temperature by 5 degrees each week for the first four weeks. So week 2 they need 85-90, week 3, 80-85, week 4, 75-80. At what point you can put them outside depends on what your low temperature is at night where you live.
