Ordering chicks thru a feed store?

Hello California Friends...
I am in south Riverside Co. I have my first flock but its dwindled a bit and Im looking to get some more hens. I would like some buff orpies and ameraucanas that are 3-6 mos old. Any suggestions on the best place to find them? Ive been to Chickens Galore, they dont always have orpies and Im looking for another source.

Are you looking for true Ameraucana? If so, you'll want to find a good, reputable breeder to source those through as the birds sold via feed stores, etc as such are more often than not Easter Eggers vs. true Ameraucana. Working with a breeder will also help you in obtaining birds that are of the "started pullet" age range vs. chicks.

Yes, and youre right wouldnt find Ameracaunas at feed stores. It was too difficult to find pullets in those specific breeds at this time...did find a new place with some very pretty olive eggers 6-12 months old, Sisters Heritage Farm in Rainbow. Will look again for the other kinds in spring.
