Ordering egg layers in the fall

I get my chicks from Ideal poultry. http://www.ideal-poultry.com. I have only lost one chick. It was sick when I got it and wouldn't eat or drink no matter how hard I tried. When it did take water the water would come right back out. I know it's most important for them to drink right away. They can go a couple of days without eating.
I will still order form Ideal again. I have read other threads that they have had sik or dead chicks on arival from other nurseries too. I know someone locally who also orders from Ideal and he gave me a chick to replace the one I lost.

NC chicken man, did you say 150, oh my goodness I am worried about 25. LOL

I also know Clearview sells less a minimum of 25. I have not ordered from them but read good things on the internet and the gentlemen there was nice to talk to. I spoke to him about ducks, before I found my ducks closer to home.

We got 5 two week old RIR chicks in the brooder right now.
Going to move them to the garage, from the spare bedroom this evening.
Should be getting eggs from them by February at the latest!
