does anyone of pics of welp birds they like to shared I would love to see them like blue and blue laced red wyandottes light and dark brahma, lowa blue ,polish or speckled sussex but any birds would be fine.thanks
My current birds came from a feed store that is supplied by Welp.
Of the breeds you mentioned, I only have Light and Dark Brahmas.
I think the Dark Brahma is a little small, and the coloring on the Light Brahma is a bit messy (which got a bit better after molting).
ETA: I don't think I would hesitate to buy chicks from the same feed store--though I don't think I would mail order chicks from Welp. I don't have an issue with my birds, but I placed an order from another hatchery simply because I want to try something different.
All except the RIR (Production Red) are early molters, which I'm not overly thrilled with. The birds were from a February hatch, which as I understand doesn't help with early molters.
The Wyandotte and Dark Brahmas are my favorite looking birds. The Black Jersey Giant is the best over-all bird--personality and laying ability. I'm not impressed with the California White--she's my only white-egg layer, so I know her laying is not what I expected of this hybrid. The Production Red is the only one that has laid eggs all winter.
