Gritsar you are right, alot of hatcheries will refund or replace the difference.

Keep in mind that alot of places charge extra for breeds not ordered in 5 or more.

The hatchery near me told me that if the parent stock is vacinated (theirs is) then he chicks will have passed on immunities and vacinating would not be neccessary. Whether or not that is true I haven't verified, but since they sell the vacine and were saving me money by telling me that I 'm going to go with it or now.
That said a lady I know raises chicks to pullet size then sells, she has them shipped from hatcheries and never orders them vaccinated and never loses any. this year a customer wanted theirs vaccinated, so she had the whole lot done and lost chicks left and right. She was devistated and it was enough to scare me.
