Ordering spring chicks....so much fun. What did you get?

Pics
Are you sure they’re sex link? I haven’t found that on any hatchery page or elsewhere… Plymouth yes but since it’s a cross I wouldn’t be so sure.

This is when I first unboxed them. There is a bit of a yellow dot… hmm.

EDIT: Sorry I doubted you this is right from the hatchery website 🤦‍♀️

“The Blue Rock results from crossing Barred Plymouth Rocks and Blue Andalusians leaving us with a sex-linked, production breed. These striking birds are monochromatic – hens being largely light gray fading into a charcoal head. Your rooster has that same light gray bottom half but with charcoal barring from the hackle to the tail. As chicks they have a lot of variety in color, ranging from nearly lavender to black. Blue Rocks are quite hardy and cold tolerant.”

Soooo since I ordered all pullets I’d hope they didn’t mess it up. Time will tell.
That’s a teeny bit of cream. Not a big prominant dot. If you start to see barring, then it’s a male. Hopefully it will even out fully grey. Fingers crossed!

Phew thanks for the insight. I’m trying not to name or get attached to these ones early because the favorites always end up roos or dead (sorry everyone it’s just the truth!) but of course growing more attached to a few 🙄

The “dot” but hopefully not today

Here’s a pic of mine as a two-day-old chick, has the same cream coloring. You really have to look hard to see a spot on yours…

All my Roos had dots on their heads… but they all started as mostly yellow chicks.
