Hello everyone.
I'm having a SMALL problem with some red mites in my coops, and i was searching for different ways to deal with it. I found a video on youtube that shows someone using a mix of vegetable oil and oregano oil to swab the perches. Does anyone here use this? Does it kill the mites or just prevent them to go on the perche? I searched the foruns for oregano oil, but all i found was about the benefits of "feeding" it to the chickens.
Sorry about the writing....

Oil is the active ingredient. It smothers the mites and their eggs. Diesel fuel or used motor oil works better than extra virgin olive oil and it cost less.

It is a personal preference but I like sea salt and black pepper on my red mites.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Used motor oil didn't work, diesel i didn't try yet ( almost as expensive as olive oil around here
