Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

Hey everyone,

We are going to Bend this weekend for a swim meet. We'll be leaving Portland Saturday morning to get to Bend by noon. Swimming starts at 2pm and we'll be heading back Sunday afternoon. Any hitch hiking birds need a ride?

You may want to contact Beckie, Robin...she had a bunny that needed a ride back I think.

I will...Becky's brand new baby bunny is from Bend?

Try saying that three times fast. Talk about alliteration.

AyeUp- I looove morels, please put me on the list for a big bag. Do you have matsutakes there? We have them if not, I can bring you some, if they come out this year. Last year was very sparse.

Paula- I can tell you all you need to know about butchering. I was a vegetarian for 18 yrs. I use painless, humane methods and I process all the animals I raise for meat. I teach small processing classes.

In WA, we passed a bill for people to raise, process and sell birds on site. We can get a permit for up to 1000 birds in a year for $75. Safe handling practices must be observed to prevent contamination of the meat. To get the permit they will come inspect to be sure you know what you are doing and have things layed out properly. Our bill works well, if you need some ideas.

HerbandTeas- Hey, we are practically neighbors! We are in Jeff Co and there are at least a few of us in Clallam Co. Maybe we will have to have a mini poultry swap, hehe.

See what happens when you don't check in every day?!
