I received an email yesterday that someone had 13 rooster chicks to find a home for. There ended up being 16, they were added to her order of 5 bantam chicks as warmers. I have no idea of what kind they are, I was going to take all of them but she had already given 10 to someone-- so I got six...of course, I am not a vegetarian.

I think that the first generation will look mille fleur, but carry the lavender gene. Then when you breed the daughters back to the porcelain roo the babies will come out some mille fleur and some porcelain....as porcelain is a mille fleur pattern with lavender. At least that is the way another breeder explained it to me.

Either way, the babies will be adorable and sweet! This is such a great breed....now one of my favorites. I hope to add more colors to my little d'uccle flock soon. I find myself spending a lot of time with them. They are all very calm, ffectionateand curious. Their favorite thing to do is to watch me read a book or magazine.....they all gather together and stare really hard at each new page I turn to. Silly birds.

A black one, a white one, a porcelain, and a mille fleur. I got them from a breeder on the other side of Battle Ground. She has some nice looking birds. Also gave me some pointers on what judges look for in showing. I'm hoping to have some pretty babies also (future) Maybe, sorta, kinda, aw who knows!

I haven't figured out a name yet...needs to go well with Mille and Tille...but not Billy because I already have a Serama named that...

Thank you for that information. Not sure how many I will keep to add back into breeding, maybe one at the most. I don't want to get too out of control with my projects

I will probably hatch the first set out for the swap and sell all the chicks unless one just really jumps out at me.

How about Willie? He kind of looks like a little Willie to me.

Lol perfect. That was the letter I hadn't put with "illie" yet

probably because it was so obvious

I thought Auntpa-K and Zoomummzy (and maybe Clover since they came from her!) might like to see a pic of Hef and Willie's other brother. He's the one I decided to keep....along with their three sisters. His name is Percy, but mostly I just call him Roo Boy.
