I have 2 organic laying hens available.

1 is Half Australorp, half Americauna, she is black, has muffs, lays a green egg, is about 9 months old.

The other was a purebred free chick, I do not know what she is. She is black with some white flecks, lays a whiteish or really pale brown/pinkish egg, is about 7 months old.

I would like $50 for the pair, but I'd take $40 cuz I'm broke and desperate! hehe

Oregon Spring Poultry Swap & Sale. Saturday April 23, 2011 11am-2pm (ish). Canby Community Park, Canby Oregon.

**NOTE** I have not included specifics if folks have made agreements on here, unless it has specifically been put into someone's have / want list. Example: Including stuff if someone has a "bringing things for ..." section, but not if someone says they are looking for something, and someone else immediately responds to them. Does this make sense??

Have -
bantam Ameraucanas in black/lav splits
large fowl lavender Ameraucana cockerels
d'uccle x bantam Faverolles chicks
1 large fowl black Ameraucana cockerel from pips&peeps, will be about 6 weeks old at swap time.
Large fowl Salmon Faverolles cockerels of various ages. They make an AMAZING meat bird, and super cute mutt chicks in a mixed backyard flock!!

A one year old Welsummer hen, who lays XL eggs, really good egg color, and about every other egg is SUPER speckledy. (Yes, speckledy is a word) SOLD TO DANCINGHEN

A 2 year old EE hen who lays a pink egg with tiny white speckles on it. She is a cream color with slate beard and red leakage, but carries blue, because when mated with my lavender Ameraucana roo, the babies have both been blue. Her eggs are large and she is laying slower than she used to, but still laying well. (pic of her on post #1637).

I also have one chick from the above hen with my Lav roo, it' blue, VERY fluffy, nice full beard, and it almost looks like it might end up with some blue barring, it's only about 10 days old, so I don't know the sex yet, but it isn't screaming roo at me yet. If it's a pullet it should lay really pretty eggs! SOLD TO DAZE333

I bought a Cochin chick at the feed store just to see what it was going to turn out like. It's from Welp hatchery, I am pretty sure it's a silver laced, i NOW THINK IT'S A COCKEREL.

I also have some Faverolles x d'Uccle cockerels. I will bring 2 that are white with black in the tail and around the neck, almost like a Columbian pattern.

I will also be bringing metal work from Chicken Rustler!!!

Want -

Brutus from Zoomummzy
MF Bantam Cochin pullet from tallyho
Might bring home some good starts, any strawberries?

If anyone has any true SHOW QUALITY birds that they could bring me hatching eggs?

Have -

Dominique, EEs (Americauna Xs) chicks. Between 1 month - a few days old. Straight run.

Dominique cockerels for butcher birds - great heritage meat birds! Try them out, perfect for pastured poultry production! Market as heritage/heirloom! Delicious!

Purebred Dominique hatching eggs, purebred Americauna hatching eggs, purebred Orpington hatching eggs, MaransX (Australorp hens, Marans roo) hatching eggs
All of these eggs are from our breeder pens, and all pens are still considered project birds. We are getting some really nice chicks out of these pens and these are the best birds of each breed that we have.

Possibly a small flock (4 hens + 1 roo) of Sicilian Buttercups - waiting to hear back from a potential home on those.

Some egg laying hens - around one year old and productive.

oregonJen -

No longer able to come.

Noncentzters -

Have -If anyone is interested I have four 4-month old EE cockerals: two BR and two NHR. I wasn't planning on bringing them, but if someone wants one I will. Otherwise to freezer camp they go!

Want: Birds to eat.

Tomato: Roma (16), sweetie (16), gold nugget (8)

Herbs: Basil

Seeds: Nasturtium and Morning glory

Vanilla Extract:$8 each or 2/$15
Vanilla Sugar: $5

Real Madagascar beans from Madagascar and vodka! Not that ebay stuff from Paupa New Guinea and no sugar added to give off a fake sweetness. I've made them going by the federal minimum of about 14 ounces of beans per gallon of vodka, so there is about 3.5 beans per 4 ounce jar. Vanilla extract, not vanilla vodka. LOL $8 each or 2/$15. It is unfiltered and if you shake it up, you can get little vanilla specks in your baked goodies!

14 sexlink chicks (by my super broody cuckoo maran hen) hatched 11/18. 5 are cockerels rest are hens. Should be laying age by the swap.

geebs -

I have... Black copper marans... I could have some hatchies ready... they are from Charlie and the Chocolate factory.... Also have Willhe Wonka and his eye candy... They are the Wade line bird (some presley influence).

Charlie's son got 3rd place in BC in Newnan... Let me know... I don't want to trade for anything that eats... Like the fruit and veggie thing...herbs etc...

I can bring eggs or chicks... PM me if you are interested otherwise I will come unchickened.. (and hope to stay that way) I may have a couple quality cockerels from Charles if anyone is interested...

My list will include A pair of (from OhioRuss) bantam cuckoo marans. They are a project bird so it is a work in progress. Guaranteed from Russ who has won many accolades over the years for breeding... This is likely the only pair in Oregon that is for sale this year. I have only one pair. I would ask 150 for them

I also have a pair of Bayhorsebonne Black Copper marans that are not a year yet. I would ask 150 for them. I have only one pair. I have reciept and hatching records on my birds.

I have a trio of my own Black Coppers from my pens I ask 100 for them. They are from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. This is my list for the gathering. Let me know if anyone is wanting these birds.

Any extra roos that show their heads or make me mad before the swap

3 Female Chinchillas, Standard grey and hand raised, 8 months old

I have decided to offer up some of my Black Bantam Araucana eggs for sale at the swap if anyone is interested. These are true rumpless tufted Araucanas, not Americanas or Easter eggers. My breeding stock came from Steve Waters in Washington. I have a clean faced roo over tufted hens so there will be no problems with the double tufted lethal gene. These eggs are pretty precious to me so I'll only bring them if there is definite interest in them. Please email me if anyone has any questions or wants to reserve some. I will bring everything laid this week but the number will depend on the girls.

Want:

Cloverleaf: Bantam Faverolles, 2 each of the Salmon, Blue Salmon, and Splash Salmon - If no chicks are available then maybe hatching eggs??
OregonJen: Buckeye, BLRW, and Silkie chicks or hatching eggs, whichever is available, Some of your wonderful Feta goat cheese, a bar or two of Eucalyptus/Mint soap
SilkieChicken - I would love to have some of your Morning glory, Nasturtium, and Goji seeds or starts
Tlb796 - Cayuga eggs or ducklings to expand my flock
Ilia - 1 or 2 Blue or splash Jersey Giant pullets or hens, Tolbunt Polish whenever you have them available!, Araucana chicks or eggs if they are bantams

I can post some pics of the one they made for me later, but the pics are before it was painted...LOL...I will try to get organized and get some up of the ones that would be brought to the swap.

Also my mom makes these neat hanging tea towels. They are a nice thick towel and not like some of the cheaper ones that are out there. I have a few of them and use them all the time and love them! They are $10. pics on pg178

Sakchickens -

Hello Everyone. For the swap. I will be bringing at least a few of each. Younger birds, mostly pullets. Cockerels on request..just figured pullets will be more popular.

I have:

Delaware
Rhode Island Reds...came from very dark large parent stock.
Partridge Chantecler Pullets...from hatchery...will be 6-7 weeks old @ time of swap.
Mottled Javas....I traded for hatching eggs from a nice local breeder with beautiful parent stock
Black Australorp
Americaunas
Easter Eggers
Welsummers...absolutely gorgerous but I don't have very many.

I want:

Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin...got this one covered already from K 7 Menagerie...can't wait.
Norwegian Jaerhorn - chicks, eggs, pullets...whatever I can get.
Orpington Duck Hatching Eggs....assorted colors if possible
Silkie chicks for my daughter...black, white, or something different...the youngest chicks I can find...preferably day olds or week olds.
Show Girl. The sweetest looking one I can find...just for fun.
Guinea Keets... just a couple for my friends since only 1 hatched.
Please don't let me buy anything else...I have too many chickens and very tired of adding on to the coop.
I'm looking for a Silke cockerel. I would love to have a lavender one or something different...Must be very colorful...blues...just pretty. The younger the better. Like I say he doesnt have to be "show quality" but close would be nice. Let me know what you got.

Hey I have a two week old white silkie roo that I need to find a good home for! Is anyone interested? I live in Eugene!

Lady of McCamley -
I'd love to come see what y'all have got, and learn about chickens from those willing to talk

OregonJane -

We are looking for a white silkie pullet and I am wondering if anyone attending the poultry swap has one that they are willing to part with. We know that they are hard to sex so we may have to buy 2 just to get a pullet.

We are also looking for Marans and Welsummers for their dark colored eggs (I use to do egging and want to get back into it). We would also want to pick up a Barred Rock and maybe a Wyandotte.

DancingHen -

ok so I just wanted to see if there'd be any interest. I've had a small strawberry project on the back burner for a while. i've been babying the plants from seed and they're doing really well. I've got some Mt Hoods, Ozarks and finally my prized babies the Mara Des Bois! Not sure if you've ever had them....they're fabulous. They're small alpine strawberries that are originally French. They're AMAZING. Really great in hanging baskets or those terraced planters. I've got about a dozen that I've potted for Sat. Still trying to figure a price for them. It'll be a bit higher than the hood and ozark. Here's some info if you're interested. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/strawberry-side.html

I hope to be bringing Black Copper Marans fertile eggs and/or chicks/pullets/cockerels. Also have Muscovy hens, proven producers/layers and one or two drakes. Have one stunning blue/lavender Muscovy young hen. Don't think my Narangansetts will be hatched by then ...but my Midget Whites may be if anyone is interested.

Oh, also one or two beautiful banty cochin/silky type roos.

I'll probably bring a couple of extra Muscovy hens and some more bantys (roos and hens) if I can catch them

I do have 3 bronze breasted turkeys but they are still *re-habbing* from the muck I bought them out of, still need groceries but if anyone is interested, I paid 35.00 each for them. Otherwise, will raise them up til fall and then YUM!!

Does anyone know what 3 week old organic BCM chicks go for? I have a few I need to let go of. A big sacrifice for me, but the greenhouse has been calling me for yeeeeears!

Also available are an unrelated(if there is such a thing) pair, maybe trio(1 more out of the 3 might be female). The pullet was hatched before Feb 14th and the roo is a young, barely legal mature boy.

I am very interested in obtaining some Birchen Marans (eggs, chicks or adults) for myself as well as Wheaten Marans (eggs or chicks) for a fellow chick lover that won't be able to make the swap.

I have 1 week old Splash Marans (8), Golden Cuckoo Marans (8), and Dark Brahma's (3). Being new to chickens and since they came as eggs from ebay'ers, I have no idea of the quality. I haven't decided for sure what I will ultimately keep

BeautifulPacificNorthwest -

I'm interested in possibly attending the swap. I have 14 hatchery stock Cubalaya eggs on day 12 in the incubator. Anyone interested in them?
I'm brand new to chickens (just hatched my first egg 2 weeks ago) and would love to talk with others in person at the swap. I'm really sorry to jump in on this topic so late. I subscribed early on, but haven't been keeping up on it. Can someone catch me up briefly on the details? (My head just spins at the thought of having to read 165 pages). Where will it be located? What time? What can I bring? How should I prep my chicks? (assuming I have any).
Thanks in advance for your time and patience. Everyone on BYC has been so kind to me as a newby.
And...I would love to buy a cheesecake

I am going to be bringing some "soup" boys to the swap for Diana so if anyone is looking for a silkie cockerel or other silkies, (or cochin cocks) please contact me asap. I'd like to get as many of these into homes as possible. Here is a list of what I have available. Car space will be limited, so I will only bring the soup boys and any that people have requested. If you are interested in any of these birds, please pm me for prices and details or pics.

Silkie Cockerels: All around 6 months old in porcelain, white, buff, calico, partridge, lav split, cuckoo split to porcelain, blue torti, blue partridge, blue, splash and black. I have pics of some of these boys - a few are just stunning. Some are breeder quality, some are show potential and others have dqs and are pet or project quality. In the pet group there is a gorgeous porcelain with 4 toes on one foot and a stunning white with a fused 6th toe on one foot. There is a lovely black with incredible type from Genn See lines who has a single comb. These would make a great start for someone wanting to get a really nice silkie at a rock bottom price.

Pairs: I have a nice buff pair, a nice partridge pair and 2 calico pairs. I'm pairing the calico boys up with 1) a splash SQ pullet except she has some brown/red in her feathering and 2) a dilute red partridge pullet, very nice type and quality.

Pullets: I have whites, partridge, buff, porcelain, splash, blue and black. The whites are BQ or show potential. Several pet pullets are available in porcelain and black. There is a nice blue pullet who walks with a limp, I think because she has a slightly turned toe and a silver partridge lav split pullet with a bad wry tail. These 2 will only be sold as pets to someone without roosters. I have a white hen hatched from HatTrick eggs that had wry neck as a youngster and still carries her head funny - I'd also like to get her into a pet home without roosters.

Hens: I have 2 buff hens I'm selling out of my breeding pen (which is just too crowded) around a year old. Nice color and correct

Juveniles: I have white, black and porcelains that hatched this year and range in age from 4-9 weeks.

Older cocks:
White: I am no longer using my senior white cock so have decided to offer him to an excellent home. He will be 4 years old this coming summer, but could still produce some nice chicks. He has a very sweet disposition and is at the foundation of my white breeding program. He is the father of the BB white hen on my avatar as well as my main breeding cock I'm using right now. He could still be a fantastic producer for someone.

Blue: Again, this boy has been a fantastic producer for me, but is related to all my birds so I can no longer use him. He has produced blue, black and splash show winners and originally came from eggs I hatched from Windchyme Silkies out of California. He throws beautiful vaulted chicks. He is also going to be 4 years old this summer.

Partridge: Very nice 2 year old boy who has produced numerous show winners. Excellent color. His wings could stand to be improved, but he is a great producer and the father of most of the hens in my breeding flock.

Cochins: I have 2 bantam cochin boys that I've been keeping in case I ever decided to breed cochins again. Since it looks like that is not going to happen, I'd like to see them go to a good home that can use them. They are from Harvest Breeze bloodlines, one splash and one black. Very nice boys. They must go together as they have been together since they were chicks. They are around 2 years old.

Want
Cheesecake - what flavors and cost? I've seen ginger & red velvet that sound like must haves.
Honey - I need to bring my own containers? What's the price?
Chicken diapers - Serama size X 4 lined & med sized X1 lined & Reg sized X 1 lined
Truffles perhaps both chocolate and fungus yummies? Price?
Cheesecake: red velvet, ginger, and Mint Chocolate (with Ande's mints) w/chocolate graham cracker crust
10 lbs of honey. I'm not sure how I'll package it, but I'll figure something out.

Bringing I will only bring birds that have been spoken for.
2 Polish Tolbunt Pullets under 1 year of age. One is frizzled and broody. When she wasn't broody she laid almost everyday. Her sister is a smooth feathered Tolbunt who lays about every other day. They are super sweet and totally devoted to eachother. Even though only one is broody they spend the day cuddled in the corner. They have been raised inside. I can't have roos and they need someone who will cherish them and be able to strengthen this lovely color of Polish. They LOVE their food made into mash with added kefir. They have been fed organically. Pictures coming soon.
3 Olive Egger Pullets ready to go outside. Hatched Feb 17th. One is blue and 2 are black. Fed organically, but got cocci and finished treatment 3 days ago. Pics coming.
2 Marockans (Marans X Rocks) Pullets in solid blue and solid black. Hatched Jan 31st and raised outside with Silkie mom and fed organically. Pics to come.
1 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana pullet hatched Feb 22nd. She has a bad cross beak and is free to a good home that can care for her. She is super sweet, lively, and has the prettiest coloring. She's outside with her Silkie mom and fed organically.
Kefir grains for free. These have been grown in organic cows milk. I have enough for 2-3 people.

Angora male rabbit. He's white with grey tips and about 3 years old. Somewhere I have his papers. I think he's a French/English cross? He's lived alone in our basement. Time to move where he can get some sunlight. He's a sweetie and very patient during clipping time. I'm very slow so it takes me around 2 hours but he's a trooper through the whole thing.

Hi all, Better late than never I guess. I am plannig on coming down to Canby on Saturday. I have been trying to figure out what I have to trade. I think I have decided to part with my Marans. A blue hen and a Blue/birchen? roo. They have been in with my wellsummers and he is just too big for them. I also have started with some LF cochin chicks. (That's what I wanted from the start, just could not find any!!) I anyone might be interested in the Marans let me know and I will try to get more pics and andswer any questions.

I am also posting pics of my three youngest LF chicks. Any thought on sex? I think my too older ones are both pullets, so I have not posted them. One is white though and could probably go if any interest. I find I am partial to blues and blacks!! (post # 2437)

Let me know, on here or pm me if you wish. Looking forward to meeting folks.

Were looking for a couple of silkie chicks...pet quality, were hoping to get 3-4 ... colors aren't important- I think they are stunning any color, however if we have to choose we both have our favorites

Ok guys, if there are mistakes on the updated list, let me know, between my pounding sinuses and cold medicine-head, I am going crosseyed staring at the screen.....
