Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

Hmm... I might need some now. It'll give Cornelius a run for his money. Little bugger screamed in my ear once and it rang for the rest of the day. And if you don't let him ride on your shoulder first thing in the morning, and then give him his breakfast, he'll scream and scream and scream until he hears the car start. Roy says our apartment sounds like a pet store, just louder. LOL

Lol I'm glad to know my house isn't the only house like that
smile.png
Seriously though, ask around. It was the most awful sound I've ever heard. My family said they'd rather have all our roosters in the house instead of that one little quail lol.

So excited for the upcoming swap. Will get a definitive list as the time nears but hoping to have a variety of layer-type pullets. Should be lots to choose from. Our crazy bourban red turkey hens have stopped laying....oddballs they are but can't help liking them!
Oh, and I noticed that our swap is scheduled on Easter weekend. Wasn't sure if it had been "noticed" yet. We'd still come for sure, just means I have to plan ahead a bit with 25-30 coming to my house for Easter.

Perhaps I could get lost at the chicken swap??

Ok! Last call for anyone who might want in on my Paul's Poultry wyandotte order! I've been in contact with them, they don't know yet about estimated hatch dates but I'm shooting for a late March order. Like I said before, I'm happy to arrange earlier pick up than at the swap if people want! Send me a PM with your info and what you want so I can add it to my list!
Other than that, I'm thinking about adding a Polish to my mix, if anyone might have one for the swap!

Quote:
We had over 100 quail in the house and they never made a sound at night and I LOVED the sound they made during the day! They never made much noise, but the mature males make a beautiful exotic sound! Their sounds were far more tolerable than our Serama in my opinion. The only reason they got kicked out was because the chicks needed the space. We had quail in our house for about 6 months last winter and I am thinking of bringing a pair of the Tibetin back in just for fun. They do however get stinky rather quickly. I guess it all depends on what sounds you like in your house. I have had a cockatiel and parakeets too. Actually the sound the male quail makes is very similar to the sound my cockatiel used to make, but he talked as well. Besides, if you are planning on butchering, I think they are fully grown at like 8 weeks old, so....
