Awesome! I will hold one for you. I'll let you know when the photos are up so you can choose or change your mind if you want to. I should have new photos of Beatrice this week too. She's such a sweetie

Looking forward to them! I am glad you interact with them from a young age, it is a lot harder to tame birds that have never really been handled or anything.

I totally agree! I can always tell when I get a bird that has been handled a lot. Mine from the minute they hatch or come home from the feed store. I can pretty much tell you all their personalities and little quirks LOL I think I need a life

Hey everyone!

I can't wait to see you all again in April. Is anyone from our area planning on placing a hatchery order this spring? If so, there are a couple of chicks I would like to get if we could split the shipping up. If you are looking at placing an order and are interested in sharing please email me with details and maybe we can work something out.

I should have Polish and maybe ducks by April and who knows what else. If the sun ever comes out maybe my Silkies and bantam Aracaunas will start to lay again

I'll post my wish list soon as well as an updated have list as it gets closer.

Take Care,
Erin

Lol...I got Seramas too.....

Actually, it was a dismal hatch....42%. 12 dead babies in their shells and lots more pipped and died due to humidity issues. I've decided that I'm going to follow what Silkiechicken taught me about hatching - forget about the humidity readings, follow the air sac. I have been following everyone's advice on what to hatch this at and that at and none of it is working. I'm going to experiment over the summer with filling the channels, keeping them filled, observing lockdowna and taping off the humidity reading so I can't see it! I had 95% or better when I followed her method last year even with shipped eggs.

Yes, I'm whining and throwing a pity party LOL

Can't wait for pics! How many did you have hatch?

Sorry about your bummer hatch rate. I would like to follow the air sac size too, it seems like a much more accurate way to figure out humidity. I'm keeping my humidity down really low for the first 18 days and that seems to work ok but I think it could be much better.
