Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

After hitting all the Portland chickeny places to post 4-h flyers, I was wondering if we have ever done this for the Swap? Does BYC allow advertising like this? Wonder if there is a template for a flyer?

I was just thinking the other day that it is time to get that updated. This week has been insane - my last hatch of Seramas produced 3 special need chicks - 2 are fixed, 1 is blind so I've been feeding her every couple hours - plus my cat is dying of cancer and kidney failure AND my daughter turned 18 yesterday. Lol it's been a bit full this week but I'll get on it next week and I can email it to anyone who wants to post it around your area. It will come in a Word file. Send me a PM with your email address if you'd like it.

Cloverleaf, are you going to take care of posting the craigslist ad up there? We need one for the south and I'll get one done for here. We have to reword it differently for each area I think as it always seems to flag it with "there is a similar post that matches this". Let me know! I usually try to get them out there about a month before hand and then sneak in another one the week before.

Oh Laura, I'm so sorry about your kitty!!!

I lost my kitty 2 years ago last month to kidney failure, and even being in "the biz" for 11 years didn't help when it was my own.

Please tell your daughter "happy birthday" from ALL of us!

It's been a trying week for sure but I'm getting through it. I've perfected my subcue injection skills lol and learned patience with my little blind chick. The chicks are frustrating because they all came from the same person

so obviously there is some sort of problem with her lines and the cat is just heartbreaking because she is only 4. Had a really hard kitten hood - she is a rescue - so it's not unexpected but still not easy.

I will most definitely tell my daughter, thank you! I'm learning patience with her too....she got two piercings yesterday (thankfully only in her ears!) and is getting a tattoo today. Lol I didn't see those things coming 18 years ago

Oh dear, I feel for you. That's a lot of stuff to be handling. Even the 18 year old! My 16 yo DS just got his license. It's just starting for me isn't it? Oh and last month he incurred an injury that I won't go into the details about but it was scary. He's perfectly fine but had he not been following the correct procedures it could have been a disaster. But that's my oldest child. That's how he rolls.

A blind chick, oh how sad. I guess she'll be a house hen? Apparently they can get by with good care. That's one sobering responsibilities of hatching babies...Thank goodness things usually work out well and it's enough to keep you going for then next round.

Anyway, back to the swap...For Portland, flyers should be posted at Urban Farm, Pistils, Linnton, Naomi's, Concentrates and Western Pet, Aloha Feed...any place else?

Sounds good Tallyho. I've got Wilco in Canby and OC, Coastal in OC, I'll have a friend that lives in Newberg hit the Wilco out there and Newberg Feed...I'll put them up at Fred Meyer and the post office too...if anybody has any other ideas lemme know...

Geebs - can you do Al's and I don't know Woodburn well enough to know feed stores, but if you could cover those too that'd be great!

feathers4fun - Can you put up flyers at Union Mills and Bentley Feed in Molalla?? (If not I can do those easy enough)

We have a local feed store in Jefferson, I would be happy to put flyers up at Wilco in Stayton, and Coastal Farm in Albany and a few other places in Albany/Salem that I come up with...........If you e-mail it to me, I can print off copies.
