Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

We didn't lose power here in Philomath but the lights flickered quite a bit. I was sending out good thoughts to all those with chicks and incubators going! Glad to hear everyone is doing ok so far

IF My Marans start laying in time, yes. I do have Blue Wheaten and Wheaten Marans, but they've been molting lately, so there's no promise I'll have chicks in time.

Great Illia, I've been hoping for some of yours but it didn't appear you would have any for the stock. I'll keep my fingers crossed. They have two weeks to start laying.

Hey all!!

I am sorry I have been so out of touch...gosh it sucks to not have chickens...sigh. I just read that the D'Uccles are doing great and I am so happy.

SOOOOO........I was wondering for all that live close to me if I could ask for a donation of hatching eggs? The eggs will be for my son's 2nd grade class for Spring Creek Elementry. These eggs do not have to be top of the line....I am just asking for mutts and ALL kinds of eggs and sizes and such. I want the kids to know that not just "Yellow chicks" come from White eggs. LOL! There are all different kinds and colors. So if anyone thinks they could do this for me....the hatch start in the incubator will be April 8th!

If you can...it would be great and informative also educational, and the best part is when we hatch the chicks we will sell them and the money will go towards the school!!!

Please PM me if any of you can donate some hatching eggs...the kids would just love it.

Take care of you!

Hi Theresa!! I was just thinking about you the other day, someone on the "oregon" thread was asking if anyone was in Eugene..

I know I'm not "close" to you, BUT if you know of anyone traveling up here or heading down that way in the right time frame, I could donate a few LF Faverolles eggs..then they'd have yellow chicks from BROWN eggs!! LOL AND I've gotten really good hatches from these guys with 100% fertility...if it's not going to work, no biggie, just thought I'd throw it out there. I hope things are going well for your family and you get to a farm SOON!! We gotta get you back in chickens!! lol

Here's a couple pics of the d'Uccle roos babies: (thought your kids might like to see them, they are crossed over Faverolles girls)...
