Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

I can add to my list of "Haves":

Does anyone know what 3 week old organic BCM chicks go for? I have a few I need to let go of. A big sacrifice for me, but the greenhouse has been calling me for yeeeeears!

Also available are an unrelated(if there is such a thing) pair, maybe trio(1 more out of the 3 might be female). The pullet was hatched before Feb 14th and the roo is a young, barely legal mature boy.

And how about 2 month old organic Lav Orps (2)?

Do I have anything else I can sell right now?!

You do NOT even want to know what they cost me, especially with Express shipping... and did you know the Post Office will call you at 12:56 am when they arrive?

The PO is wonderful about chicks! I have them trained to call me when they unload the plane, usually midnight or 2 am. If there is any delay, they hold them for me and I drive an hour and a half to Tacoma to pick them up. The trucks have many stops and are cold. They guys in the warehouse love to open the box to see all the babies and they take good care of them, usually in the warm office next to the heater with a blanket or coat wrapped around the box.

If I have to drive 3 hours round trip and my birds arrive without damage, I consider myself ahead. The damages mostly happen on the distribution trucks. The truck up here that distributes the mail to the post offices after it gets to the depot in Port Hadlock is always in the ditch! I never want my chicks in that truck if I can aviod it.

1 year I would meet the semi driver from Tacoma at the gas station for coffe at 4:30 am. He kept my chicks in the warm cab and I would buy his coffee and donut. hehe. Too bad he transfered...

That's awesome! Who did you get them from if you don't mind my asking.

I got them from Bishopschickens. They are so incredibly fat n fluffy.....I highly recommend! 13 lemon blues and two red browns, a normal color variant. They are GORGEOUS!!

Got back from the PNPA show and I'm sitting down with a glass of wine to catch up here. We'll head back early in the am. Such nice people putting up with incompetent me. And y'all have been busy! 4 pages of posts since I last looked. Lots of cute sales birds too! Somebody stop me! I'm trying to remind myself I'll get enough chickens next weekend!

Big update to my available chickens....

I've decided to keep Xander. I love the little guy and just can't let him go

Liam, Ulysses, Tuesday and Jillian all went to a new home today - together. I'm so excited because they are a great couple, young and getting started with chickens again (yep, I gave them a flyer!). They were only going to take 3, but Ulysses started whimpering and they had to have him too
