Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

Not on the subject of the swap, but I thought you'd laugh:

Today I was installing an external nestbox in my smaller coop, to create space for more chickens. This is the small coop that the big Buff Orps fight over nesting in, even though it didn't have a nestbox (they use a corner) and it's not theirs (they have a bigger coop)... so I had to wait for 2 resident BR chickens to lay eggs today before I started, then had to fence out the Buff Orps so I could cut into the wall and install the nest box. They were circling me and complaining ever more loudly. As I was about finished, leaning into the coop (at waist height), to attach the box, one of them flew up onto my back and walked up over my head to get into the coop! I was laughing so hard I couldn't stop her! That's one desperate chicken!

I Just went out to close up the chickens and found my buff orp on the nest. She's been acting broody off and on lately and now she is. Yay!!! Just in time for the swap.
I'm not getting the impression anyone is bringing any wheaten or blue wheaten marans chicks to the swap. If anyone happens to have this breed of eggs they want to sell I'm interested. If not I'll have her raise a few cornish cross for me, she's done it before.

My wish list
Wheaten or Blue Wheaten Marans chicks (2) or eggs (half a dozen)
Blue, Black or Splash LF Ameraucana chicks (2)

I won't have anything to bring this time around but next swap, depending on the location and interest, I'll plan to have a table of beaded jewelry.

Oh my, I didn't realize my avatar really changed when I tried to the other day. It's sideways. How do I rotate it?

Oh, I almost forgot (how shameful)...I invited another vendor that was as the show this weekend - for those that were there, the "DOO TEES" people. The gal that was at the show has a prior commitment, but she may be able to have one of her other associates come.

For those not at the show, and not familiar with "doo tees", here's the link to their website: http://www.independencegardenspdx.com/products/doo-tees

I
have a "chicken shirt" and DS has a "bull shirt".

Do you have a pic? How much for it?

I can get a pic of it tomorrow. The price tag is on it, but it's still in my car, so I couldn't tell ya! LOL
