Can you make and ship one for me? I am dealing with a ton of BS and need to indulge myself in a yummy cheesecake.

I could but the shipping would probably be more than the cheesecake itself....

Throwing this out for everyone as an FYI and Alexis, possibly we can add to the website for the outside people who attend?

I just got a PM from someone who loved the event in Corvallis, had fun but also apparently brought home sick birds (respiratory illness) that died or had to be culled within a week. She quarantined them, thankfully, but I think it would just be a good idea to make sure you get the contact information in case something like this happens in the future - which we all know is a possibility.

Some might say we would not want to drive anyone away, however I
think, First & Last Name with an e-mail would not be a big burden to
be able to swap\ rade\\sell. Asking for a phone number at swap\ rade\\sell
time should be a known option also.

I don't know, I think that then puts the burden on us. Alexis had it on the website not to bring any birds if you had any that were sick. I think it's up to the buyer to know who they buy birds from / obtain info. If people aren't willing to share basic contact info, then bring in the old adage "buyer beware". If anything, I'd put something on the website that says that we do everything in our power to ensure people only bring healthy birds BUT each person is responsible for their own transactins & if anyone wants to be able to have any kind of follow up with sellers, they need to obtain contact info at the time of the transaction...JMO

Definitely a good idea, I'd think the sellers would want to give cards or contact info, though sometimes it gets so busy it's easy to forget.

I didn't apply stethoscopes to chests, but I sure didn't notice any birds that looked "off". So I am going to assume that the seller didn't know their flock was about to show signs of The Sniffles.

I felt a little less secure about some of the rabbits, and my 2 that came home with me are still in quarantine, after so many people went around touching every rabbit in the place and opened my cages without asking.

I don't know if people were going from cage to cage handling poultry. If they do that, then whatever that sniffle bug was it might have gotten spread around a bit.

I sold the pair of ducks almost immediately, so I didn't have any poultry and didn't see how the public was behaving around them.

If the sniffles showed up 2-3 days after the swap, the birds could have contacted it in the new home. Sometimes a flock has resistance but a new bird will get symptoms from whatever is in the soil.

However, a big yes to a notice that buyers are responsible for getting contact information and the sponsors of the swap have no control over what is sold.

I wasn't saying we had to monitor it, I just said it is a good idea for people to do and putting it on the website is just a reminder to people to do that. I personally think it's a good practice to have in general.

I clearly remember one seller who had a ton of birds and at least half didnt look to well and some had crusty nostrils. Thats to bad someone purchased sick birds. I think someone should inspect birds as they come in and would be willing to volunteer for that. There should also be a generic bill of sale with the sellers info
