does anyone know why a hen would wander around *inside* a coop loudly clucking/chattering/multiple cluckings in a row? My bantam partridge leghorn has been doing it off and on sometimes mornings sometimes evenings.
We've looked around and there doesn't seem to be any predators or anything hanging about...only thing is the wyandotte is in the nest looking like she's about to lay. Doesn't sound too peaceful with the leghorn pacing about.
Any insights?
Ps: I'm an illegal Salem hen holder.
ps2: There is a possibility that we might extend an open offer for a trade: Our leghorn hen for a quieter gal. It might be possible the leghorn might do well free range style on land.
